Mission Parwaaz - One Man, One Plane, One Epic Journey Around the World

About Mission Parwaaz

About Mission Parwaaz

Mission Parwaaz was about a childhood dream realised decades later by sheer passion and dedication. It was one man's dream to bring pride and glory to his country and its people. It was a journey with many hurdles , disappointments over come by self belief and persistence.

Parwaaz is an Urdu word meaning 'flight'. This is the official website of Mission Parwaaz a successful attempt by Pakistani celebrity Fakhr Alam to become the first Pakistani in the history of the world to circumnavigate the globe, flying a single engine aircraft.

Fakhr Alam spent most of his childhood dreaming to be an air force pilot. Yet fate had other things in store for him. After almost 25 years in show business as a musician, singer, actor and entertainer. He finally realised his childhood dream to be a pilot when in the year 2015 he got his private pilot license in Florida, USA.

The same year he announced that he will attempt to circumnavigate the globe in a single engine aircraft. But with only less then 100 hours logged it was a huge task to get this mission off the ground. Three years later he is finally done it.

A succesful aeronautical circumnavigation of the globe has these requirements.
1. A total minimum distance of 26000 nautical miles is covered and is flown through all medians.
2. Only one plane can be used. Pilot cannot change the plane at any point of the journey.
3. Pilot must start and end the journey from the same airport.

The Plane for Mission Parwaaz

Pilatus PC 12NG

One of the biggest challenges for Mission Parwaaz was finding the right aircraft. The problem was simple the pilot Fakhr Alam had less then 100 hours flight experience. No operator, owner or charter service around the world was willing to give him an airplane. when an airplane was made available the insurance companies would refuse to give insurance cover which is mandatory to operate a flight through international air spaces and airports.

Finally after a lot of endeavor the Pilatus PC 12NG with a registration N9854Z stationed at Clear Waters Florida, USA.

The Pilatus PC-12 is a single-engine turboprop aircraft manufactured by Pilatus Aircraft of Switzerland. It is powered by a single Pratt & Whitney PT6A-67engine.

The Flight Plan

Started my journey from KCLW (Clearwater Airpark, Florida USA), I ended it at the same airport after flying RTW (Round The World). I landed at various airports across the globe in various countries through out this challanging journey, for re-fuelling, supplies, rest and plane maintainence. The details of all these airports are given below. You can click on their ICAO code to find out more about them.

The Mission was tracked live by fans and friends on Flightradar24 or Flightaware - by typing in N9854Z.
